Firehouse Subs awards equipment to Greater Cincinnati Fire Departments

Firehouse Subs awards equipment to Greater Cincinnati Fire Departments

Firehouse Subs will award $34,000 worth of life-saving equipment to Greater Cincinnati fire responders Wednesday. Local firefighters will be at the Firehouse Subs location at 830 Eastgate South Drive in Eastgate at 2:30pm to demonstrate how the equipment works. The Russellville Volunteer fire department is receiving $20,000 worth of items including: thermal imaging cameras, turnout gear and hose accessories. The camera will be used to detect body heat and hot spots in burning buildings, while the turnout gear and hose accessories will give firefighters the necessary protection and equipment to provide safe and efficient fire services to their community. The Union Township Fire Department received 223 carbon monoxide detectors worth $4,992. The awarded detectors will be installed and serviced in homes throughout the community. The Pierce Township Fire Department received extrication equipment worth $9,747. It will improve the department's rescue capabilities for victims in motor vehicle accidents, reducing the time it takes for victims to receive necessary medical attention. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has given more than $20 million to hometown heroes in 45 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, including more than $960,000 in Ohio.
